Esta guía ha sido elaborada a fin de orientar a los pueblos indígenas u originarios, y a sus organizaciones, sobre la protección de sus conocimientos colectivos vinculados a los recursos biológicos, en el marco de lo dispuesto en la Ley 27811 y en el Protocolo de Nagoya.
La guía está dirigida a miembros de los pueblos indígenas u originarios, y a sus organizaciones representativas, los que tienen derechos anteriores a la formación del Estado peruano, mantienen una cultura propia, un espacio territorial y se autorreconocen como tales, y pueden ser tanto amazónicos como andinos.
Esta guía explica en forma clara y sencilla, los principales conceptos asociados a la protección de los conocimientos colectivos de los pueblos indígenas vinculados a los recursos biológicos, en el marco de lo dispuesto en la Ley 27811 y en el Protocolo de Nagoya, señalando además, las principales herramientas con las que cuenta la Ley 27811, como son el Consentimiento Informado Previo, los contratos de licencia por el uso de los conocimientos colectivos, las sanciones o infracciones a los derechos de los pueblos indígenas sobre sus conocimientos colectivos, y los registros de conocimientos colectivos.
